Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners” (Mark 2:17). He made his mission clear: he was pursuing the redemption of the lost. Then, in a remarkable display of his affection for, value of, and plan for us, he called us to join him: “As the father has sent me, I am sending you” (John 20:21).
As we move into the heart of Bethesda in November, our desire is to be faithful to this calling. In line with MBC’s vision of making an impact on secular Washington with the message of Jesus Christ, we desire to be a redemptive presence in downtown Bethesda – a city on a hill that cannot be hidden, a light that shines for God’s glory (Matthew 15:14-16). MBC’s Core Value #9 states that “our church must have an evangelistic impact on our community.”
We have an immediate opportunity to reach out to our community coming up next week. Please join the MBC Bethesda staff and community for an organized outreach at Metro stops along the Red Line on Monday, October 31, and Wednesday, November 2. We will be handing out cards to invite people to MBC Bethesda. There is a morning shift (7:00 – 9:00 am) and evening shift (4:30 – 6:30 pm) each day. SIGN UP NOW for a slot, and we will follow up shortly with more details.
The message of salvation through Christ alone is too important to keep to yourself. We sincerely hope you’ll join us.
