DC Schools Project Recap

In August, we partnered with DC Public Schools to help clean and refurbish their facilities before students arrived for the first day of class. This year, nearly 700 individuals, families, and small group members from McLean Bible Church showed up to serve our city in a radical way in Christ’s name. All together, we served at 36 different schools, and our volunteers even had the opportunity to pray with some of the principals.

Chrissy Stortz, a volunteer from MBC Bethesda, summed up her experience as follows:

I came away from the experience possibly more blessed than those we were in the school to serve.  Watching the combined effort put forth by our team really spoke to me.  I could tangibly see the positive impact we can have on our communities when we are united for a purpose. At the end of the day I walked away with a few new friends and a greater understanding of and respect for the MBC’ers I see on a regular basis.

MBC Core Value #9 states that our church must have an evangelistic impact on our community (Acts 6:9, 1 Thessalonians 1:8). We want to send out a big thank you to Chrissy and everyone else from MBC Bethesda who came out to do just that.
